Evelyn Louis Devine: 2006

Evelyn L. Devine passed away on March 5, 2006. Born December 24, 1918 in Oconomowac, Wisconsin, her mother was the famed "Welsh Nightingale", Mary King Sarah. On June 16, 1941, Evelyn marriéd George F. Devine, who later won the Naval Ordinance Award for his contributions to the successful development of Sonar during the Second World War. Evelyn and George later founded Cedar Retreat Kennels, where they bred and raised many champion English Setters. After George's death in 1981, Evelyn continued her love of animals through volunteer work with the Arizona Humane Society. She is survived by a sister, Doris Bochem, of Ocala, Florida, one niece, six nephews, and numerous grandnieces and grand-nephews. Memorial donations may be made to the Arizona Humane Society.
